BJ'S BLOG 02/25/16 "DUI in a Brand New Car"

February 25, 2016

Here’s one for the BIG BOOK OF DUMMIES…and I’d just like to point out that the menfolk are off the hook for this one! I’m claiming that one as a personal victory.
21-year-old Jasmine is a resident of Florida (of course), and she recently had quite an escapade in her brand new Ford Mustang.
This idiot crashed into the back of a street sweeper. The street sweeper flipped into an electrical box, and knocked out power to hundreds of people. THEN, Jasmine’s car caught on fire; luckily, firefighters arrived in short order to put out the burning car.
As you might expect, Jasmine was grateful…oh, wait, NO SHE WASN’T! Instead of welcoming the firefighters with open arms and a heart full of remorse, Jasmine attacked them. Finally subdued by authorities, this fine young woman threatened to come after the firefighters AGAIN…just as soon as she’s released from jail.
Jasmine was charged with DUI, and battery on a firefighter. Oh, and did we mention that Jasmine is the parent of a fifth-grader? Yes, she has a kid…whose school lost power as a result of the electrical box mishap. The hits just keep coming.
Personally, I think Jasmine is one of those people who should be locked up – in jail, or at least rehab – until it is proven beyond the shadow of a doubt that she has conquered her considerable problems. Also, I think she should be forced to drive a rusted-out AMC Pacer for a period of at least five years after release.
I would hope that none of you have a story as extreme as this one, but there’s only one way to find out:
When did you, or someone you know, cause major damage, either drunk or sober? Let’s hear your stories, Rock-A-Holics!
