Charities That Rock!

For Giving Tuesday

November 26, 2018

Here we are. November. After stuffing our faces full last week, and then spending most of our money over the weekend with all the frenzy of holiday shopping, we have to remember, it's the season of giving. While we may be able to afford our hot lattes as we walk around the malls, let us not forget the less priviliged.

Seattle is cold. Hell NORTH AMERICA is cold, and there are thousands of people, children, and animals that don't have anything. They need your help. And in light of Giving Tuesday on November 27th, I think we should all take a step back, and be thankful for what we have, and give to those who don't. Here is a list of some cool ROCK inspired charities, that you might consider opening your pocket book for tomorrow:

Coats for Kids

Coats For Kids through Operation Warm: You hear us talking about it all the time on the morning show. It's cold. It's raining right now as I write this. I am under 3 blankets. To think there are kids out there who have no jacket, puts a knot in my stomach. $34 puts a warm winter jacket on a local child in need. You can make this happen. The kids need you.

The Vitality Foundation

Brought to you by the one and only Pearl Jam, they aim to end homelessness in Seattle. And with the homeless rate at an all time high, there has never been a better time than now to donate.

Motley Zoo Animal Rescue

These guys are the real deal. Helping animals all around the Puget Sound, and with their Everyone Can Rescue campaign, they need us now more than ever. Help the animals!

Music For Relief

Started by the members of Linkin Park, Music For Relief aims at helping people all over the world who have been affected by natural disasters.

To Write Love on Her Arms

If 2018 has taught us anything, it's that life is fragile. And Mental Health awarenes is a huge issue. From our I'm Listening campaign to dealing with issues in our own community, we know this affects so many people, and To Write Love on Her Arms is a great organization that is dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for all of us that suffer from depression, suicidal thoughts, or any kind of mental health issue. Remember, you are not alone. You are worth everything.

So what do you think? Maybe don't grab some of that coffee this week, or choose one less present for someone who is getting multiple and put that money toward someone who really needs it. They are worth it, and you will feel good. It is the season of giving after all.

Until next time, see you in the pit!
