Okay, writing the headline for this blog kind of hurt more than it should have.

But you read it correctly. Mark Hoppus of Blink-182 is 46 today.

Remember when he was the annoying 20 something year old, that wrote all those snotty punk rock songs and blew up the radio? Well now he still not only does Blink, which shows no signs of slowing down despite losing Tom DeLonge a couple of years ago, but he has produced a truckload of bands, and stays relevent in the rock scene on many different levels.

Whether you want to admit it or not. Blink-182 re-wrote the music scene for a lot of people, and played an intrigual part in many of my generation's interest in rock. Starting the band when they were just 20 or so, Blink has released seven studio albums, a handful of EP's, music videos, sold over 50 million albums worldwide, and as I mentioned above, has no signs of slowing down. In fact, you can catch Mark this weekend playing the MusicInk fest in Southern Cali, if you are so inclined.
