So what you might say? Well The Overnight Sensation Matt Koch and I (Danny) are super stoked about this show.

(^^^Matt recently got the album artwork from "And Out Come The Wolves..." tattooed on his calf!^^^)

So why is it a big deal that these two bands are touring together? Because Dropkick Murphys might not be around if it wasn't for Rancid. Lars Fredrickson (guitarist of Rancid) stumbled upon one of the early demos of the Dropkick Murphys and passed it along to Tim Armstrong who immediately signed them to his label, Hellcat Records. Now, years later, the are finally touring together. And they are coming to Seattle!

Rancid was one of those bands that EVERYONE told me I should listen to when I was first getting into rock and punk rock music. Never signing to a major label, they managed to keep their underground cred, while still gaining a massive following. "And Out Come The Wolves . . . " a album that really put them on the scene's radar, was the soundtrack to most of my high school. Enjoy my picks to jam out to today:

Not to metion the Dropkick Murphys. Yes, they are a fantastic band to see live, and it is okay to listen to them more than just around St. Patrick's Day. Here are my favorite DM tracks:

They are playing the Wamu Theater on August 16th. Tickets go on sale this Friday here.
