DEFY Champion Artemis Spencer has put his title on the line in the first ever 8 man DEFY “Super 8XGP” Tournament taking place this weekend.

The events are taking place on Friday July 26th and Saturday July 27th at Seattle’s iconic Washington Hall and will feature both tournament and non-tournament matches.
The winner of the 8 man tournament will walk out of night two as the DEFY Champion. They will have to win 3 big matches to walk out with the gold, though.

Here are the first-round matches for the 8 man tournament for the title.
Douglas James vs. Artemis Spencer
Matt Cross vs. Judas Icarus
Schaff vs. Christopher Daniels
Mike Santiago vs. Cody Chhun

Who do I see walking out of night two with the belt? As much as I would love to see Artemis Spencer walk out retaining the title, my money is on the mighty SCHAFF.

In addition to the tournament, one of the original members of the Bullet Club – Tama Tonga – will be making a rare non – Japan appearance as he takes on two fierce competitors. On night one, Tama Tonga goes head to head with one half of the Amerikan Gunz, Ethan HD. If that much isn’t brutal enough, he comes back to Washington Hall the next night to face off against AEW’s own “Bad Boy” Joey Janela.

There are also three killer tag matches announced for night one.

The DEFY Tag Titles are on the line as the Southern California outsiders known as Warbeast defend the belts against two lucha heroes – “Los Parks” a team comprised of the “Chairman” himself LA Park and his son Hijo de LA Park.

ECW legend Super Crazy is teaming up with “El KO Boy” Guillermo Rosas to take on a team with a ton of promise – Leon Negro and Sonico , collectively known as La Raza.

Last but certainly not least we have a mixed tag team match as the “Ravenous one” Randy Myers teams up with fan favorite Danika Della Rouge to go against the cocky young wrestler Travis Williams and the mysterious Sloan.
