Just a couple weeks back, legendary Norwegian progressive black metal band Enslaved released their 15th album “Utgard.” To celebrate, drummer Iver Sandøy mentioned that they will be playing a couple small scale shows in their hometown.

According to Sandøy, Norway is now allowing small-scale shows with 200 socially distanced people or less in attendance. Consider me officially jealous.

I spoke with Sandøy via Skype for Episode 200 of Metal Shop’s Backstage Pass this past weekend and we chatted about everything from starting out as producer for Enslaved, joining the band, growing up in Norway and much much more.

Check out a couple tunes from the brand new Enslaved album here and listen to the full interview with Sandøy below.
