Local Wrestling Company Hosts First Ever Seattle Women's Tournament

One of the major wrestling stories from this past year has been the continued push to emphasize the importance of women’s wrestling. In the WWE, we’ve had two different divisions – Smackdown and Raw, respectively – continue to highlight women’s wrestling in a much more positive, competitive and far less sexualized way. This is a big change from the “Divas” division of yesteryear. On NXT, we’ve seen one of the most dominant wrestlers in the world, Asuka, continue her reign as undefeated and undisputed women’s champion.

For the past couple weeks, subscribers to the WWE Network have been treated to a killer 32-women wrestling tournament called the Mae Young Classic, starring talent from all over the world. The final two of which – Kairi Sane and Shayna Baszler - will be going head to head live this Tuesday after Smackdown for the final match of the tournament.

The momentum that women’s wrestling has is undeniable. It’s fitting, then, that just this past Friday night at the 3-2-1 Battle! show titled “B-Boy Meets World,” they had their own huge announcement. On Saturday September 30th, this badass NW underground wrestling company will be hosting their first-ever all women’s wrestling tournament. That’s all the information that has been released so far, but make sure to follow 3-2-1 Battle on Facebook here for all announcements related to this huge event.
