Metal Heads Take Notice: Northwest Terror Fest Brings The Heavy This Weekend

This coming weekend is the return of one of the gnarliest music festivals around – Northwest Terror Fest. From Thursday until Saturday night, Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood will host dozens of bands - from grindcore like Agoraphobic Nosebleed and The Drip to death metal badasses Gatecreeper (whose vocalist ,Chase Mason, I'm standing with in the photo above) and hardcore heavyweights Integrity.

This is the 2nd year of Northwest Terror Fest and it’s gonna be a really special weekend for heavy music. Fans of any type or sub-genre of metal will have something to be stoked about, as the guys behind the scene at NWTF have put together one of the most diverse lineups imaginable.

The fest will be spread between three venues, with the main shows being held at Neumos and the attached smaller space downstairs Barboza. After the shows are over, you can head a few blocks down the street to see killer after shows on all three nights.

The grand finale of the whole weekend happens on Saturday night at the special Highline afterparty, as the mighty Himsa reunites for a special 15-year anniversary set of their first huge record, 2003’s Courting Tragedy and Disaster. That is gonna be huge!
