Monday Night Raw Turns 25

Jabroni Journal

January 19, 2018

This coming Monday night (Monday January 22nd)  is the big 25th Anniversary episode for Monday Night Raw and it's expected to be a huge show. Along with their stacked current roster, they have already announced a ton of special guests for the night including Trish Stratus, Lita, Brother Love, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker, Triple H and Shawn Michaels, The New Age Outlaws, MVP, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Eric Bischoff, Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, Teddy Long, JBL, The Bella Twins, Ric Flair, The Dudley Boyz and a ton more. I'm stoked to see what surprises are in store for us on Monday night.

It would be damn near impossible for me to try and come up with a top 5 favorite moments of Monday Night Raw considering the fact that I have been watching it pretty much every single week for almost it's entire run. I distinctly remember turning it on for the first time back in 1994 and seeing the The Undertaker destroying a no name "enhancement talent" in a matter of seconds. I was hooked.

My first live wrestling show ever was Monday Night Raw back in 1996 at Key Arena. I was a huge Shawn Michaels fan at the time and made sure to bring a handmade "Kliq Territory" sign. He got power bombed by Vader that night and it really bummed me out. I had no idea that WWE filmed an entire month of Raw on one night, so much to my mom's dismay the show lasted somewhere around five hours. I was in wrestling heaven.

Happy Birthday Raw! Sometimes you're great, sometimes you're kind of awful, but you're always there for me.
