My WWE Money In The Bank Predictions

If WrestleMania is the ending of a calendar year for WWE, Money In the Bank is the beginning, as it builds up a major plotline for the next 12 months. Both MITB ladder matches are stacked with top talent this year and there are also a handful of other solid matches on the card. This Sunday night (June 17th, 2018) promises to be pretty huge, as both rosters are now combined to make it a four-hour event.

Here are my predictions for Sunday night’s Money In The Bank Pay Per View.

Daniel Bryan vs. Big Cass

I would love to say that I see Daniel Bryan getting another flawless victory in this match, but I honestly see Big Cass leaving as the victor in this one. It would be pretty stupid to have Big Cass lose two consecutive big matches in a row considering the fact that it seems they’re trying to build him up as a legitimate bully/badass on Smackdown.

Winner: Big Cass

Intercontinental Championship Match – Seth Rollins (Champion) vs. Elias

Seth Rollins has been on fire as of late. Ever since he blew us all away with the career defining moment on Raw a couple months back in the Gauntlet Match, he has been stealing the show. Seth is a great example of how important the Intercontinental Belt can seem if you put it on a top-quality superstar – it brings me back to the days where Bret Hart, Razor Ramon, Shawn Michaels and Mr. Perfect were battling over the belt and elevating its status every single week. Elias has a ton of charisma and is one of the best at getting a truly hateful reaction from the crowd, but there’s no way I see Seth dropping that title….yet.

Winner: Seth Rollins (Retains the Intercontinental Title)

Bobby Lashley vs. Sami Zayn

I’m gonna be a brutally honest here…the segments involving Sami Zayn and Bobbly Lashley over the last few weeks have been downright cringeworthy. Sami SHOULD win, but Lashley will probably make short work of him and hopefully end the feud. I hope I never have to see one of those in-ring skits again. Woof.

Winner: Bobby Lashley

Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match - The Bludgeon Brothers (Harper and Rowan) (Champions) vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson

I sure do love the “Good Brothers” Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, but with the path of destruction that the Bludgeon Brothers are on, there’s no chance they dethrone the former Wyatt’s.

Winners: The Bludgeon Brothers (Retain Smackdown Tag Team Championships)

Roman Reigns vs. Jinder Mahal

If there’s ever a match where the Chicago crowd will break out the beach balls and fire up the obnoxious “CM PUNK! CM PUNK!” chants, it’s during this one right here. Jinder will most likely beat Roman down for the majority of the match, only to have Roman come back strong and spear the hell out of the Modern Day Maharaja, setting up the 1-2-3.

Winner: Roman Reigns

Smackdown Women’s Championship Match – Carmella (Champion) vs. Asuka

Carmella is not ready for Asuka. The champ is gonna tap out and Asuka will become a WWE Women’s Champion for the first time on the main roster.

Winner: Asuka (New Smackdown Women’s Champion)

Raw Women’s Championship Match - Nia Jax (Champion) vs. Ronda Rousey

Nia Jax has improved so much over the last year, but I can’t see WWE having Ronda Rousey lose in her first title match. The amount of money and promotion they have invested in Rousey would be damaged if she came out as the loser in this match. For that reason alone, I have to say I see Rousey making Nia tap out.

Winner: Ronda Rousey (New Raw Women’s Champion)

Last Man Standing Match for the WWE Championship – AJ Styles (Champion) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

We’ve seen a number of shenanigans – namely crotch shots – end the last few title matches between these two, but this time it’s under “Last Man Standing” rules. This match is going to be awesome and both athletes will pull out all the stops, but I see Nakamura walking out with the belt as the new WWE Champion.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura (New WWE Champion)

Men’s Money In The Bank Match: Braun Strowman vs. Finn Bálor vs. The Miz vs. Rusev vs. Bobby Roode vs. Kevin Owens vs. Samoa Joe vs. TBA (Big E, Kofi Kingston, or Xavier Woods)

I’m going to stick with my prediction from a couple weeks back and say that Big E will be the representative of the New Day and will shock the WWE Universe as he rises to the occasion and smashes all competition, ultimately grabbing the briefcase and winning the match.

Winner: Big E

Women’s Money In The Bank Match: Ember Moon vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Becky Lynch vs. Natalya vs. Lana vs. Naomi vs. Sasha Banks

There are a lot of ways this one could go and I wouldn’t be disappointed with any of these women winning – minus Lana. Ultimately, I have to be stubborn and stick with my previous prediction in last week’s blog – Becky Lynch is gonna win that briefcase and finally show she has what it takes to get the spotlight back on her.

Winner: Becky Lynch
