Two years ago the Northwest wrestling landscape changed forever as DEFY debuted at Washington Hall to a packed house.   I stood above the action, watching from the balcony as the crowd chanted and cheered, impressed by local talent and blown away by the main event of Shane “Swerve” Strickland and Cody Rhodes.  There was magic in the air as the DEFY ring announcer - KISW’s own Steve Migs - declared “We Get Loud” to a damn near deafening response.

From there, it was on. For the next 24 months DEFY built a reputation amongst diehard wrestling fans as an institution in the Northwest and  a staple in the North American indie wrestling scene by featuring the best in the world alongside local standouts pushing their way to the top. We’ve seen everyone from Brody King, Matt Cross, Walter, Lio Rush, Colt Cabana, Pentagon, Fenix, Joey Janela, Johnny Mundo, Taya Valkyrie, Brian Cage, Su Yung, Joey Ryan, Matt Riddle and Tommy Dreamer mixing it up with rising Northwest stars like King Khash, Sonico, “The Devil Himself” Drexl, The Amerikan Gunz, Schaff and the current DEFY Champion himself Artemis Spencer.

This weekend DEFY is celebrating it’s 2 year anniversary with “DEFY Never Dies”, another loaded card full of quality matches. But at this point, would you expect anything less?

On Saturday night (January 19th), Washington Hall will be rocking once again, as three united forces of DEFY wrestling – Randy Myers, Schaff and Shane Strickland - join together to face a truly “Elite” trio known as So Cal Uncensored - Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky.

We will also see the first title defense by the newly crowned DEFY Champion Artemis Spencer as he goes head to head with Impact wrestling star Dezmond Xavier.

Happy Birthday Defy!
