Jabroni Journal: After The Draft 5 Fantasy Feuds and Storylines The Draft Makes Possible

5 Fantasy Feuds and Storylines That Could Now Become A Reality

July 20, 2016

Last night, the anticipation finally came to a head as WWE brought forth their official brand split Draft to the first episode of “Smackdown Live,” the newly rebranded show that now airs live every Tuesday night on USA Network. Moving forward, both Raw and Smackdown Live will be considered their own individual brands with separate rosters, announce teams, referees and production crews. It was announced on Monday that the General Manager for RAW is the legendary Mick Foley, whereas the man leading the way on Smackdown Live will be the man behind the Yes movement, Washington’s own Daniel Bryan.
In case you missed the draft, here are the rosters for both brands…

RAW:  Seth Rollins, Charlotte, Finn Balor, Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, The New Day, Sami Zayn, Sasha Banks, Chris Jericho, Rusev, Kevin Owens, Enzo Amore and Big Cass, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, Big Show, Nia Jax, Neville, Cesaro, Sheamus, The Golden Truth, Titus O’Neil , Paige, Darren Young, Sin Cara, Jack Swagger, The Dudley Boyz, Summer Rae, Mark Henry, Braun Strowman, Bo Dallas, The Shining Stars, Alicia Fox, Dana Brooke, Curtis Axel

Smackdown Live: Dean Ambrose, AJ Styles, John Cena, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, Becky Lynch, The Miz, Baron Corbin, American Alpha, Dolph Ziggler, Natalya, Alberto Del Rio, The Usos, Kane, Kalisto, Naomi, The Ascension, Zack Ryder, Apollo Crews, Alexa Bliss, Breezango, Eva Marie, The Vaudevillains, Erick Rowan, Mojo Rawley, Carmella
Now that the rosters are split and we’ve had a few key talents brought up from NXT, I came up with five fantasy storylines and feuds I would love to see happen.

1. The Balor Club:  With Finn Balor getting the main roster call up and “The Club” being split up – with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson going to Raw and AJ Styles heading to Smackdown Live – we have a really cool opportunity here. It’s no secret that “The Club” is a nod to “The Bullet Club,” a hot faction that included Gallows, Anderson and Style that ran wild in New Japan Pro Wrestling. But before AJ Styles came in to join the group, the leader of the Bullet Club was Finn Balor, then known as Prince Devitt. Putting Anderson, Gallows and Balor together as “The Balor Club” would be a great way to throw a little nod back at the early era of their New Japan days.

2. Kevin Owens vs. Brock Lesnar: Kevin Owens is the perfect opponent for Brock Lesnar. Sure, he might not be as physically imposing as The Beast Incarnate, but Owens is a brawler with a super physical style that could very much compliment the brute force of Brock Lesnar. These two would put on a hell of a fight.

3. AJ Styles vs. Dean Ambrose : These two former indie darlings and current fan favorites are two of the biggest names atop the Smackdown Live roster and would undoubtedly steal the show any time they face off. AJ Styles is killing it in his feud with John Cena right now, and I have no doubt in my mind that he would do so in a feud against the current Heavyweight Champion.

4. Baron Corbin Joins the Wyatt Family: Ok, so this one is probably the least likely to happen, but screw it, this is fantasy booking. The Wyatt Family has been split up, with Bray and Rowan on Smackdown Live and Braun Stromann on Raw. With the monster Braun gone, Bray could search out an imposing force on the roster to do his bidding….and find Baron, a wrestler who’s dark, lone wolf character would just need a small shift to become a believable part of the Wyatt’s.

5. Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins: Considering the talent between these two, this feud has the potential to be the Stone Cold vs. The Rock of “The New Era,” and it gives me a nerdgasm just thinking about it.
