In the world of heavy metal and hard rock music, many bands have come and gone – but one band stands the test of time: METALLICA.
For the past 36 years, this Bay Area band has risen from the underground, broken through the mainstream and waved the flag of metal high above for the entire world to see. Together,  Metallica has sold more than 16 million albums,  toured through damn near every inch of the planet (including Antarctica) and won 9 grammys. Furthermore, their fist—pumping anthems like “Master Of Puppets", “For Whom The Bell Tolls” and “Fuel” (just to name a few) transcend all barriers, whether it’s class, race, religion or nationality.

On August 9th at CenturyLink Field, Metallica will be rocking the Northwest for the first time in nine years in support of their new, badass double-album “Hardwired to Self Destruct”. Seattle has a rich history of killer Metallica performances. Here is a portion of their Seattle show from 1989 which was featured on their live tour documentary “Live S*** Binge and Purge”.

Of course we can’t forget the opening of the Experience Music Project (now known as MOPOP) back in 2000, when Metallica headlined an all day concert stacked with performances by everyone from Kid Rock to Eminem and Dr. Dre.

This time around the band that will be sharing the stage with Metallica is another one of the biggest hard rock bands in the world – AVENGED SEVENFOLD. This is for sure going to be one of the craziest concerts of the year and is a must-see for any fan of metal !
Stay tuned to KISW for your chance to win tickets to this truly massive concert !
