We’re in the middle of an awesome summer here in the Northwest and that means there are badass concerts going on pretty much every night. There are a ton of rad shows to choose from this weekend, but here are a few to consider when you’re running down your options 

Friday and Saturday Night (July 20th and 21st)
The 2nd Annual Backyard Festival – Louie G’s (Fife)

If you’re down with tasty pizza, quality beer and a ton of awesome local bands for one small price then this might be the perfect weekend gig for you! The 3 day event started on Thursday night, but you can still witness 2/3’s of the festival on Friday and Saturday. Here’s the full list of bands playing between these two days.

If you’re a fan of Soundgarden and Temple of the Dog, you’re probably aware that Fridau July 20th would have been Chris Cornell’s Birthday. Come celebrate the late vocalist’s legendary life and career with the Northwest’s best Soundgarden and Temple Tribute band. Make sure you show up early to check out the awesomeness that is Blue Helix!

Saturday July 21st
Skelator, Substratum, Xoth, Expain – The Kraken (U District, Seattle)

If your idea of a perfect night out is to throw back a few beers and headbang til your neck is sore, this one is for you. Catch Canadian band Expain’s first U.S. show alongside three of Seattle’s best metal bands – Substratum, Xoth and Skelator. Horns up!
