Greetings Rockaholics!

Welcome to my new blog, Down with the Fitness, dedicated to those of you interested in taking control of your health and fitness!

If there’s one thing I love as much as rock n roll debauchery, it’s hitting the gym with some Pantera blasting through the ear buds to get me fired up!

Black Label Society has remained a staple as well. Oh, the unspeakable things I’d do to get a deadlift session with Zakk Wylde in!!

Since you like KISW I can safely assume you can curate a fitting soundtrack on your own which is a VERY big part of the equation for me (Hence why I’ll still be making suggestions here!)  However, a lot of people don’t have the slightest idea of where to begin when it comes to exercise….

Well lucky for you, I work as a certified personal trainer during the day.

I’ve learned a lot in my journey from typical meathead to fitness professional that is constantly learning new cool sh**, so I want to start passing some of that information on to people who are new to exercise. (I’ll throw in some nutrition tips along the way too, as that’s where the real fat loss takes place!)

Honestly I don’t have some master plan here… Check that, I have NO plan here. I just like helping people, and think exercise is a powerful “Keystone Habit” to help accelerate your life to new levels of awesome!

Even if you don’t change your diet one bit, just incorporating 15 minutes or so a day of bodyweight exercise from the comfort of your own home can go a LONG way in building strength and confidence.

Hey, you know what? I think that’s a good theme for this blog: Giving you the tools to develop a 15 minute daily bodyweight routine!

I’m just spit-balling here. Like I said earlier, I have no plan… So I should probably come up with one.

In the meantime, try doing 10 squats (to the best of your current ability, I’ll break down form for that on Monday…) and drinking a glass of water right when you wake up every day.

Sounds simple enough, right? It is. That’s the point!

I’ve found that as a super quick and easy habit to get the blood pumping, hydrate you a little, and start your morning with a message to your subconscious that you’re committed to your health.
