Well hey there 12s!

The Seahawks walked away with a "W" Sunday, but it left a little something to be desired. Let's break down The Good, The Bad, and the Big Picture.

The Good news is that the Seahawks reputation of having a dominating defense and being a 2nd-half team are still in tact. Without the freight train defense that the Seahawks possess, this game goes a lot differently, as it were, this was the 2nd defensive battle that Seattle faced this season, at least we came on top in this one. The injuries were minimal again this week which is a huge plus. Thorpe caught the worst of it with a sprain that will have him on the mend for a little bit, but I'd expect him back in the lineup in no time. As for Jimmy, he just banged a knee, and Richardson manged a game winning catch with a compound dislocation finger.

The Bad news......the O-line......the o-line o-line o-line o-line! I know we here in Seattle do our best to blame the refs when it comes to a hard game, but this was ALL due to that offensive line. We lost a strong player when Fant got injured, but you'd think that with the amount of money the spent on Joeckle we'd be able to give Wilson a little more time in the pocket before he had to run the first down single-handedly. Some of this could be based on that the Niners tore their team down to the foundation and rebuilt from the ground up and might have hit a homerun on people that they signed, but it looks a lot like our boys just couldn't open a hole big enough for long enough so that Carson could really pound out the yards. I'm also going to call out Graham this time. I don't know if he's sick or battling an injury, but he's not himself out there yet this season. I think we can count on 1 hand how many receptions he's made in the last 2 weeks. I'm still optimistic that he'll bounce back, but he's different right now.

The Big Picture is that at the end of the day, it's a win. It's an ugly win, but that's kind of become our specialty. I don't know enough to speculate on why Bevell is making the calls that he does, but I refuse to believe that the organization continues to keep and pay the man handsomely for a job that the couch quarterbacks can see is shoddy. There is a method to his madness, and theirs. Time to start looking toward the future. We're going into Tennessee and after they play the Titans, this week is going to just be another hash in the "Win" column. Not to say that we don't learn from the mistakes that were made, but dwelling can only cause issue. My pick for MVP in this game is Bobby Wagner. Great tackles all day and one hell of an interception.

There's work to be done, and our boys are fighters. They continue to strive to be the best in the league and we see it all the time. It's only week 2, let them get their ball rolling and find their rhythm, they always do. That's all I've got today. We'll get the preview for the Titans at the end of the week! See ya'll then! With that....Mike Hawk is OUT!
