What's happenin 12s!

Been a while! And there's some gooooood news ahead! Our boys came through in the best way and secured their spot in the playoffs by beating the odds, and the KC Chiefs. Right before they finished strong against the Cardinals, I'm using that term a little loose I know, but, point is, we're the official 5 seed and are headed to Dallas this weekend to continue the climb towards Atlanta in February. So let's take a look at some of the things to be excited about and worried about this weekend.

Strengths:

This year has shown our depth in our offense. Our boys have established themselves as having one hell of a running game, but don't for a second let Russell loose in the pocket, or he's going to deliver that 20 yard bomb. Our offensive line has been reinforced in a pretty remarkable way with the inclusion of DJ Fluker, as well as some clever positioning and trades, I think we have the line that we need to at least be a threat in the playoffs this year. Defensively we still have a terror of a front line, and some pretty fantastic linebackers, and on Special Teams we have one of the best punters in the league, as well as a good runback, as well as defense to do just about everything we need

Weaknesses:

I've been talking about them all season, and they still aren't tweaked to the point that they need to be just yet. While our defense has some pretty impressive strengths, we still have some weak corners and our Safety seems to be late more often than not. Special Teams....you all know my grief. Let's just get through the remainder of the season. We also seem to adjust our ability to that of our competitor. We'll have games where we are neck and neck with the Rams or the Chiefs, and then we lose to the Niners. We don't seem to have our own established position in the NFL, we're kind of a chameleon that mirrors the ability of who we're playing. If we drive forward and continue to play like we're the baddest team out there, I think we'll be surprised with the outcome.

I truly believe that we can overcome Dallas one more time this season. We need to learn from mistakes earlier in the season, and take it to them one more time. We can shut down Zeke, we've done it before, we can do it again. Our big problem is going to be Amari Cooper and Cole Beasley. If we keep a weathered eye on both of those targets, we should be able to make it through the first round and be on to the next challenge. It's a big time for us guys! Keep those flags flying and the voices loud! It's time for Playoff Football! With that....Mike Hawk is OUT!
