The Prodigy's Blog "Piggy Bank Raiders"

May 4, 2016

If you’re anything like me, you grew up stashing what little money you had in a piggy bank with hopes to save enough money to buy whatever your heart desired. In my case, I saved quarters to buy ice cream, delicious, delicious ice cream. But now there's new info that says I didn't get as much ice cream as I should have. According to a new survey, nearly half of parents admit to being piggy bank raiders, taking their kids money to pay for random things. I knew it! Now I know why my parents were always eating ice cream when I had to eat carrots.

It also says that Dads are more likely to break their kids banks than mothers. I'm looking at you pops. We know how you afforded all those Twinkies. No wonder BJ was so eager to let me go door to door selling rocks as a kid, he was getting a cut of the profits. There might not be any hard evidence, but the proof is in the Twinkies!

I'm not completely innocent here though. I probably broke enough keyboards that I owed my dad a couple boxes of Twinkies, so fair is fair.

What about you, did you parents ever raid your Piggy Bank? If so, what did they buy?
