Seattle Rock Day

Wednesday April 4th

March 31, 2018

Greetings, Rockaholics!

It's a very special time of year where we drop everything to reflect on the decades of Seattle rock music that continues to stand the test of time. We've watched bands emerge from every corner of the 206 and beyond, and we're inundated with love for our local music heroes. From the legendary guitar playing of Jimi Hendrix to the hauntingly intense vocals of Layne Staley... the influential angst of Nirvana and the glass-shattering harmonies from the Wilson sisters of Heart. To spotlight the unforgettable music born in Seattle and its surrounding areas, we will be paying tribute to all the local music we love to belt out at the top of our lungs on Seattle Rock Day! Hang with KISW on Wednesday April 4th for a trip back in time and all the way up to the present, where we’ll blast EVERYTHING from the heavier stuff like Metal Church, a few surprises like Sir Mix-a-Lot, Loud & Local bands like Windowpane, and of course the epic work of Soundgarden and Mother Love Bone. Seattle Rock Day kicks off at 6am with BJ & Migs, and we'll keep the Seattle sounds rolling late into the night with nothing but the best from our corner of the world. Kevin Diers will even host a special Loud & Local show from 10pm to midnight! It’s the ultimate celebration of music as we reminisce about sold-out shows at the Off-Ramp, going to games in the Kingdome, AND we’ll be crowning the winner of the Seattle Rock Rumble

Happy Rocking,
