Guns N' Roses at The Gorge!

The Guns N’ Roses show was one of the best shows that I have ever attended.

G N’ R were at the Gorge on Sunday, and I made the 2 ½ trek there with my wife to not only check them out, but also to check out Royal Blood and Ayron Jones and The Way…all three bands were great.  Plus, it was my wife’s first time at the Gorge ever…and this seemed like the perfect show to attend as we are fans of all three bands!

I have seen Guns N’ Roses before, but it was Axl and a bunch of other dudes…those shows were fun, but it wasn’t the GN’R that I knew and loved.  When they announced that Slash & Duff were re-joining the band, I was so excited…only to be crushed to hear that they were playing Century Link Field for the first leg of this tour, and I was going to be out of town.  I started trying to find a different city to fly to so that I could see this show…with no luck, so when they announced a second leg…and that they would be at The Gorge, there was no way that I would miss it.

I am damn glad I didn’t miss it!

They sounded fantastic…some of my buds that have seen them back in the early 90’s said that they sounded better now than they did back in the day.

They came out swinging right away…playing It’s So Easy…hell, they jumped into Welcome To The Jungle by the fourth song!  The packed Gorge was jamming right from the get go!

Check out the set list from the show…

Some of the highlights for me were November Rain, Estranged, Mr. Brownstone, My Michele, You Could Be Mine, Sweet Child Of Mine…Ok, OK, every song was a highlight!  The ultimate highlight was Civil War.  I can’t lie…I started feeling my eyes tear up while watching them play this song, it’s one of my all time fave songs, and just watching Axl, Duff, and Slash on stage on the catwalk…never thinking I would see this happen…was quite the emotional moment for me.  Here is a pic I took when it all hit me with them on the stage together…

I took a bunch of pictures…as you can tell, I was super close…I think there were at most 5 people standing infront of me on Duff’s side of the stage.  I have to give big thanks to Craig gass for this.  I ran into Craig earlier in the day, and our seats were lawn seats…I get a text from him about 10 minutes before G N R took the stage asking if we wanted to watch the show in the pit, as he got passes from the bands security for us to come down.  Thank you Craig, you made an awesome show even more incredible as I never thought I would be able to be so close that I could see the sweat drip off Axl’s arm…I know, it’s a lovely visual!

Here are some pix that I took…
