Migs Blog: Congrats T-Birds!

May 15, 2017

Huge congrats to the Seattle Thunderbirds…last night for the first time in their 40 year history, they won the WHL Championship!

It was an incredible game…they never had the lead throughout the entire game, and with about 6 minutes left in the game they were down 3-1…and then they turned it on!  They ended up scoring 2 goals in the final minutes of the game, and sent the game into overtime…and then this happened…

You got to love the passion that these guys have for this sport…the love for the game…you can see it in the face of Ethan Bear of the T-Birds, as he got to hoist the WHL Cup in the air!

I’ve been following the T-Birds since I moved out here in 1997…I remember going to games in the Key arena…then following them to Kent at the Showare Center…I’ve been lucky enough to do many things with the team, from getting goalie lessons from then goalie, Calvin Pickard…to playing every year in their Hockey Challenge to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House.  This team is a class organization…from their coaches, the players, and everyone that works behind the scenes…I couldn’t be happier for the T-Birds…all of this is well deserved!  Now go win the Memorial Cup!

It is great to see some of their alumni chiming in as well…
