Migs Blog: Great Speech Tony!

November 16, 2016

I’m definitely not a Cowboys fan…and I never put much thought into Tony Romo as a person, seemed like a decent guy from all the interviews I have seen, but my level of respect for him just skyrocketed with how he handled all the quarterback drama in Dallas.

If you don’t know what’s going on… Tony got injured earlier this season, and they were forced to start rookie quarterback Dak Prescott.

Dak has surprised the football world, as he has led the team to an 8 & 1 start…so there was a lot of talk about whether Romo would even get to start when he healed up.  Let’s not forget that Romo is towards the end of his career, as he is 37, and he has been injury prone these last couple of seasons.

Tony is now healthy and could start…but how do you screw with the teams chemistry by swapping quarterbacks?  You can’t.  Tony realizes that, and he gave a emotional and classy press conference yesterday, where he pretty much passed the torch to Dak.

Even if you aren’t a football fan, this is worth a watch.

It’s a powerful thing to watch a man come to terms with his role with his team.  I only hope that Tony moves on to another team and experiences great success. ..Ok, a decent amount of success…so long as it doesn’t get in the way of the Seahawks fortune! Ha!
