Summer Meltdown Was Incredible!

Over the weekend I attended Summer Meltdown for the second year in a row…and it cemented that I hope to never miss a future Meltdown.  The experience I had when I attended Meltdown last year was incredible, and somehow this once was even better.

What is Summer Meltdown? It’s a music festival in Darrington that is also a camping experience.  The most important thing I can bring up about Meltdown, and why it is great…you are surrounded by easily the best vibe you could ever imagine.  Everyone is in great spirits…everyone is friendly…and it’s a place where you can have fun, and be yourself with no judgement!

The camping is easily my favorite part…as you walk around the venue, there are a few different camp sites …and it’s a blast to just walk around to see the creative set ups.  Everyone is walking around all day just chatting, eating, and sometimes you’ll walk into a random jam session.

On Saturday we all went to the river…the weather was perfect, and the river was packed with “melters” having a blast!

The music at Summer Meltdown was incredible…from singer songwriters, jam bands, funk bands, and EDM artists…there was something for everyone to dance to.  For me…there were two sets that easily were my favorite…BassNectar and Manatee Commune.  Not only were their respective sets full of energy, but I couldn’t ask for better company while dancing and enjoying the evening!

It was great being there for Manatee Commune’s set…as this was his first time performing at Meltdown…and the love the crowd gave him led to him playing for an extra 40 minutes…which all of us were very grateful that he did!

Other highlights included the music of Big Gigantic, Five Alarm Funk, Trevor Hall, MarchFourth, Psymbionic, and Beats Antique!

The hardest part about Meltdown is the adjustment back to “real life”…after spending an entire weekend around positive people and vibes…it was tough to come back to work and be exposed to negativity in the news, social media, etc.   Which is why the countdown to Summer Meltdown 2019 has already begun in my head!
