Tackling the Touchy Things

October 2, 2017

Hola Bitcholas,

Today is a heavy day. Just heavy. By and large, Monday's aren't anyone's favorite, but the news today leaves all of us with a heavy heart. Las Vegas.

We had a long discussion this morning in the office about how we wanted to approach today's show. What happened in Las Vegas absolutely crushed all of us, and leaves us all very angry. It's something that happens way too much in this country. And we all know it will happen again because the so-called legislators don't have the courage to address the issue and the issues leading up to these things. So we wake up today with the news that a shooter killed over 58 people and wounded almost 500.

This is only 15 months after we woke up to the news that a gunman had slaughtered 49 people at a nightclub in Orlando. And 'they' said then what they are saying now...'this isn't the time to talk about mass shootings'. When is the time? When do we collectively address this is and try to find solutions.

The key here is 'try to find solutions'...which, in this country, has gotten confused for 'bicker and point fingers'. Our ability to communicate with each other has been reduced to vitriolic rants on Twitter or the gutless trolls of Facebook. We can and need to be better at this. This isn't about blaming 'the other side' for the hows and the whys. What has that accomplished? It's the tact we've all been using for years and it has accomplished nothing. But we insist on following the same failed path only to repeat the same crap.

Come on. We can do better than that I hope that we will start to.

Do what you do best and STAY BEAUTIFUL!
