The Best Yurt Camping Spots For Fall

Taryn's Wreckreation Guide

October 5, 2017

I firmly believe in year-round camping, and with super-cool yurts all over the PNW, there's never been a better time to camp in style and take in all the gorgeous fall colors.

Whether you're looking for a local getaway or an extended weekend road trip, these 5 yurt camping spots top my to-do list this time of year:

1. Yurt Village at Kayak Point. Located just a few miles down the beach from where I grew up, the yurts are up on the bluff at Kayak Point above Port Susan Bay, and you can get down on the water in no time for beach combing, storm watching and picnicking! Value Season pricing starts at $45/night.

2. Pacific Beach State Park Yurts. Located on the gorgeous Washington coast, the yurts at Pacific Beach are a perfectly rustic fall getaway. Just a quick jaunt to the water and you'll be flying a kite in no time! Some of the yurts are pet-friendly, and Shoulder/Winter Season pricing starts at $49/night.

3. Coho Campground Yurts. On the west shore of Wynoochee Lake in the Olympic National Forest, you'll find these cozy yurts! Each yurt has a deck overlooking the water, a spot for a campfire and room for up to 6 people. Overnight fees start at $70/night.

4. Desert Yurts at Cave B Winery. Next to The Gorge Amphitheatre, Cave B's gorgeous luxury yurts are far from basic! Tucked amongst the vineyards and offering gorgeous views of the winery's grounds, overnight stays start at $139/night.

5. Doe Bay Resort & Retreat Yurts. A beautiful Orcas Island getaway, Doe Bay has some of the most stunning views on the entire island. They offer both "on-grid" and "off-grid" yurts, plus pets are welcome! Overnight accomodations start at $56/night.

Take advantage of major seasonal discounts and take in some yurt camping this month! I know I will be!

Happy Adventuring,
