Details on the #SaveTheShowbox Advocacy Meeting

Taryn's Wreckreation Guide

January 7, 2019

It's been a few months since our last update on efforts to #SaveTheShowbox, so the public is invited to an Advocacy Update Meeting on Wednesday January 30th at The Showbox for an inside perspective and opportunity to ask questions.

One of the last big wins to note happened in the summertime, after Seattle City Council voted unanimously to temporarily expand the Pike Place Market Historic District to include The Showbox. Mayor Jenny Durkan signed the temporary expansion into law on August 24th, and this bought us about 10 months to organize the next steps of preservation and protection efforts.

As the war to #SaveTheShowbox wages on, you can also style yourself down with the 'Save The Showbox' Hats or T-Shirts to help Historic Seattle continue to carry out their work to preserve and protect this important local landmark.

We hope you can join Historic Seattle for this FREE event on January 30th! The more the public rallies around these gatherings, the stronger efforts to #SaveTheShowbox will become!

Happy Adventuring,
