This is what Seattle looks like from a helicopter...

Taryn's Wreckreation Guide: Flight seeing with ATOMIC Helicopters

July 11, 2018

I've lived in the greater Seattle area my entire life, and I've always marveled at the beauty of our backyard. This week I got to see my home from high above in a helicopter, and I fell even deeper in love with the incredible PNW.

A few months ago, my brother-in-law got his helicopter pilot's license and his helicopter is a part of the fleet at ATOMIC Helicopters in Seattle, who offer both beautiful flight seeing tours and flight trainings.

Yesterday, I met him near Boeing Field and got to see his new baby for the first time.

We took off for an hour-long tour of Seattle and the surrounding areas from above. Of course, we had to cruise next to the Seattle skyline so I could point out the Bank of America Tower, which is where you'd find KISW's studio up on the 14th floor!

From there, we cruised over Fremont and Ballard before sweeping past Green Lake and heading for Snoqualmie Falls.

The journey to the Falls was amazing, plus seeing some of the most RIDICULOUS waterfront homes confirmed once again that I am in the wrong industry. :) Between lakes, rivers, farmlands and lush, green hills, I truly believe we live in the most incredible place on the planet! And then... we approached Snoqualmie Falls...

After taking in the Falls from all angles, we made our way back to the city and just in time - I made it back to the studio with 3 minutes to spare before my show's intro! HA!! Thank you, Chris! An unreal experience from start to finish.

I'll never forget my first helicopter flight, and if you've never been on one yourself, I can't recommend it enough! It's one thing to see Seattle from overhead as you're flying in and out of Sea Tac, but a private, guided and personal tour of the greater Seattle area is truly remarkable. Hope you can make it happen!

Happy Adventuring,
