This is why you should adopt a new furry friend this weekend

Though it's no fault of their own, senior dogs and cats are often overlooked at animal shelters when all they want is a second chance at a life filled with love.

The Humane Society of Tacoma & Pierce County will be having a HUGE adoption event on Saturday October 6th! Thanks to a generous grant and partnership with the ASPCA and Subaru, they will waive half of their adoption fees for senior dogs (7 years and older)...

Also, in association with Pawsitive Alliance and Good Neighbor Vet, The Humane Society of Tacoma & Pierce County will be providing discounted vaccines and microchipping from 10 am-1 pm.

Additionally, 25 shelters across the state are participating in the 7th Annual Statewide Shelter Open House on Saturday with tons of fun activities to enjoy. You'll find everything from from adoption specials to raffles, giveaways to themed parties, and above all else, see the great work your local animal shelters are doing for pets who are waiting to find their forever homes.

Now I have to go home and beg Brad to let me bring home a new furry friend or five! Rockaholics, if you're thinking of adding a fuzzy family member to your home, we would LOVE to hear your adoption story from this weekend - please let us know if you end up with a new best fur friend!

Happy Adventuring,

Taryn Daly
