For several years, KISW has participated in an amazing event called Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, and we have met Rockaholics from all over the greater Puget Sound region through these local fundraising events. One of those individuals is a local karaoke host named Cliff Satterwhite, and he's taking his fundraising to a whole new level...

Cliff will be raising money by singing Garth Brooks’ iconic “Friends in Low Places” for 36 continuous hours as part of the South Sound’s REAL Men Wear Pink campaign with proceeds benefitting Making Strides Against Breast Cancer! This is his 4th annual attempt, and although he may be short of the 76 hour Guiness Book World Record, the official Guiness Book recognizes several marathon singing records covering more hours, but these records include multiple singers, multiple songs, food breaks and allotted sleep breaks. He's doing something BIG and BOLD to raise awareness and funds to fight breast cancer, and we hope you will support him!

Cliff's goal is to raise $10,000 through the REAL Men Wear Pink campaign, which gives men a leadership role in the fight against breast cancer. Community leaders around the nation are using the power of pink to raise awareness and money for the American Cancer Society's breast cancer initiatives, including innovative research, patient services, and education around screenings and risk reduction. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks are the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, uniting nearly 300 communities with a shared determination to finish the fight against breast cancer.

This event begins on Monday, October 1st, 8pm with a Kick-off and Sing-Along Party. The marathon officially starts at 12:00am October 2nd and continues for 36 hours through the Celebration Breakfast on Wednesday, Oct 3rd at 12:00pm. Join Cliff at Stars Bar and Grill, 31216 Pacific Highway South in Federal Way. As momentum for this event increases through social media, we anticipate a great turn out for a wonderful cause.

If you can't be there in person, please donate to Cliff's cause! And THAT is Rockaholics Helping Rockaholics!

Happy Adventuring,
