MEAT. It's What's For Dinner.

March 10, 2016

I'm a VERY proud carnivore. When I shop for my steak or bacon or pork, I am a huge fan of picking up meat from local butcher shops. There's something about that old-school vibe, the high quality product, and the personal touch that just cannot be replicated elsewhere. I have three favorite s hops that you absolutely have to try!

1. Silvana Meats - Silvana, WA: Since I grew up 15 minutes from Silvana Meats at Warm Beach, I've been coming here for YEARS! I have been in line next to folks who traveled from as far north as Bellingham and as far south Seattle to come here for their great specialties! Definitely pick up steak when you're there, but grab a few landjaegers for the road! You'll probably eat them before you make it back home.

2. Rain Shadow Meats - Seattle, WA: Their Capitol Hill location is DANGEROUSLY close to KISW. It's tucked inside the Melrose Market and their display cases are a thing of beauty. The staff is insanely knowledgeable and they truly bring back that local butchery vibe that I love SO much. They opened a second location in Pioneer Square that I look forward to visiting soon!

3. Blue Max Meats - Summit, WA: Thee Ted Smith turned me on to this awesome spot down near Puyallup! Not only do they carry an awesome selection of smoked meats, chicken, beef, and pork, they also have exotic meats like elk and wild boar! And for you pet owners, they have menu items for your four legged friends as well. Also, they're big Seahawks fans, which always brings a smile to my face!

Do you have a local butcher shop in your neighborhood? If so, shoot me an email with the goods!

Happy Adventuring,
