Remembering Kristina Marie, former KISW Rock Girl

June 19, 2018

This week, we lost a member of the KISW family, former Rock Girl Kristina Marie Clark. She bravely and openly battled cancer since 2012, and will be deeply missed by so many.

When I was brand new to KISW, I went to a rock show at Slim's Last Chance where I was introduced to Kristina. I learned she was a former KISW Rock Girl, and also a cancer warrior. She and I chatted for quite some time, where she told me all about her cancer diagnosis and the inoperable tumor they had found. We immediately clicked, because let's be honest - cancer has touched each and every one of our lives, either directly or indirectly. We talked in great detail about the rock community and the support system within it, then became friends on Facebook, and I kept up with her cancer journey through her videos.

She shared her story and all of the ups and downs that she experienced with complete honesty. She inspired others and reminded us that every fight may look different, but every fight is worth fighting.

She was a beautiful person, both inside and out. Her smile and positive energy lit up the room! We were so saddened to learn of her passing, and we hope that you'll join us in remembering her and all of the joy she brought to the world.

Last month was Brain Tumor Awareness Month, where the motto is "Go Gray in May", but maybe you'll wear the color gray this week to honor Kristina Marie. For information regarding brain tumors, please visit
