Rock Blog: 2 Charities You're Helping By Going To Pain in the Grass

June 22, 2017

If you're headed to White River Amphitheater on Saturday for Pain in the Grass - THANK YOU! You're quite the philanthropist, don't ya know? It's TRUE! For another year, KISW has partnered with Pearl Jam's Vitalogy Foundation, and $2 from every ticket sold for Pain in the Grass is helping further their work with TWO local charities: Downtown Emergency Service Center and the Bureau of Fearless Ideas.

Downtown Emergency Service Center was established in 1979 as an emergency shelter. Today, the DESC is working to end homelessness for our community's most vulnerable people by offering clinical services and housing.

Pearl Jam's Stone Gossard shares with us why DESC is so important to him:

The Bureau of Fearless Ideas is a nonprofit writing and communication center for youth. The Bureau offers tutoring, writing and publishing programs for kids age 6-18 so that they may develop strong comminication skills.

Pearl Jam's Jeff Ament is extremely passionate about this organization:

We can't WAIT to see you on Saturday, Rockaholics! Thank you for supporting Pearl Jam's Vitalogy Foundation by rocking out at Pain in the Grass!

Happy Rocking,
