Rock Blog: Metallica Receive Cease-And-Desist Letter

A claim was made recently that Metallica may have stolen a song by death metal band Incubus (now known as Opprobrium) for their song "Moth Into Flame" off of Hardwired...To Self Destruct.

Brutal Records sent a cease-and-desist letter last month, saying the song was a pretty close match to the Incubus song "Hunger For Power" which was released back in the late 80s, although the tweet they sent refers to the song "Spit Out The Bone".

Since then, Opprobrium has released statements that they in no way, shape or form would do something like this, and that the letter may, in actuality, be fake. They're certainly not behind the message.

Give each song a listen. What do you think??

We'll see you at CenturyLink Field when KISW Presents Metallica on Wednesday August 9th!
