Seattle ranks #2 in Top 10 Cities for Drinking Cider

Over the past few decades, the state of Washington has established itself as a leader in the world of craft beer. But now, there's a new treasured brew in town - cider!

Hard cider has become increasingly popular across the United States and with a vast range of palatable sips from sweet to tart, there truly is a cider for everyone. According to a recent study by Redfin, Seattle is not only a player in the cider game, it's recognized as a top city for drinking it!

Washington has nearly 200,000 acres of apple orchards throughout the eastern foothills of the Cascade Mountains, so it should come as no surprise that we are out front with more cideries than any other state in the U.S.

Not long ago, I was visiting Capitol Cider in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood with my cousin, a cider enthusiast, and as self-proclaimed "hop-head" with very little cider experience at the time, I asked for a cider that an IPA-lover would like. Fully expecting to not like whatever I would be served, I was blown away by what our bartender chose for me - a rhubarb cider that completely changed my view on this popular drink.

Capitol Cider is just one of MANY incredible cideries in the greater Seattle area, making this area one of the hottest cider cities in the U.S. For instance, Schilling Hard Cider has some of the most unique and eye-catching cans you'll ever come across, and they even offer cider making classes for those interested in dabbling.

A dear friend of mine introduced me to Locust Cider in Ballard, who not only make some of our state's most popular ciders, they also donate a portion of sales from their bottles and cans to the Hydrocephalus Association, a condition in which fluid builds in the brain, and is only treated with brain surgery. They also just celebrated their 3rd anniversary - congrats all around!

Thank you to all who joined us in celebrating 3 years! We couldn’t do any of this without you! #thankful #happyanniversarytous #manymoretocome #ciderfamily #ciderlove #ciderlife #hardcider #cider
