Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and if you're anything like me, you're already dreaming of the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and green bean casserole, not to mention the leftover turkey sandwiches! But for many families in our area, this dream is only a dream, and struggling to make ends meet is a reality.

A local group called SPOTS (Student Packs Over The Stretch) is a non-profit organization that sends food home with students in need every Friday. Their goal is to provide enough food to last the weekend when they are not in school, and when able, enough to create a meal for their whole family.

This weekend, they are taking it a step further by putting together Thanksgiving meals for those who might not have one otherwise, and you are invited to contribute to their mission! When you hit the grocery store this week, be sure to add some of these items to your cart if you are able, and then head to Oakbrook Elementary School in Lakewood on Saturday to drop off your food donations.

If you can't be there Saturday, consider calling 253-363-1884 and sponsoring a student over the phone!

This is EXACTLY what Rockaholics Helping Rockaholics is all about! Thanks for supporting our neighbors in need this holiday season, my babes and babettes!

Happy Adventuring,

Taryn Daly
