Spring skiing for a good cause is something any winter warrior can get behind, and on Saturday April 7th, powder hounds are invited to Crystal Mountain to honor the life and legacy of Mike Brooks.

On June 7, 2016, Mike Brooks was on his way to work when he was killed by an impaired driver. He left behind his loving wife Rachael, his son McCoy and his daughter Finley. He also left behind countless friends who would tell you that Mike was one of the nicest people you'd ever have the pleasure to know.

Many of those friendships were made met during his 20 year tenure as an employee at Crystal Mountain, and so was born the Mike Brooks Bobbleheads and Brews event at the resort! On Saturday April 7th, Crystal will host an incredible fundraising event, with this year's charity partner being Cascade Mountain Rescue Dogs, because Mike himself was quite the "dog person". These rescue dogs are trained by professional ski patrollers and serve as critical members of avalanche rescue teams!

This year's theme is 1980s rock, which was chosen by Mike's son who said, "My Dad loved '80s rock!"

This year, you can score raffle items and prizes from the Seattle Mariners, Seattle Seahawks, Stevens Pass, The Summit at Snoqualmie, Crystal Mountain, Sturtevants and more!  And awesome beer tastings from area breweries including Elysian, Fremont, Georgetown, Mac N Jacks, New Belgium, Pyramid, Sierra Nevada and more!

Futhermore, the funds raised during the Silent Auction benefit the Brooks Children Education Fund!

Event entry for adults includes one raffle ticket, a plastic rock star necklace, a Mike Brooks Bobbleheads and Brews button, 6 four-ounce beer tastings, and a 14 ounce plastic mug. Event entry for youth includes receives one raffle ticket, a plastic rock star necklace, a Mike Brooks Bobbleheads and Brews button, 6 four ounce Gatorade tastings, and a 14 ounce plastic mug.

Happy Adventuring,

Taryn Daly
