Taryn's Wreckreation Guide: 5 Reasons I'm Ready For Fall in WA

August 29, 2016

As we wave goodbye to 80-degree days and welcome fog-filled mornings, I am absolutely WRITHING with excitement for another PNW fall. There are MANY reasons to love a good fall in Western WA, but I had to trim down my personal list to these five:

1. Football. First and foremost. It's my favorite sport! I'm a monster fan of the Seahawks, and a die-hard WSU Cougar. Both NFL and College football are BACK and I'm pumped!  This Saturday September 3rd, my Cougs take on Eastern WA at Martin Stadium in Pullman, and Sunday September 11th is the Hawks season opener at CenturyLink field vs. the Miami Dolphins. HAPPY DANCE!!!

2. Comfy clothes. Not that summer clothes are UNcomfy, but you have to admit that fall clothes are definitely better. Trading in tank tops, shorts and snap-backs for soft sweatshirts, boots and beanies.

3. The colors. Although our front lawns aren't as brown and dead this year as they were after the last couple summers we had, I'm excited for greener grass and the beautiful colors of the leaves on our trees. One of the best places to see the colors in action is driving over Stevens Pass on the way to Oktoberfest in Leavenworth or over Snoqualmie Pass headed for a Cougar football game in Pullman!

4. Hockey. It's almost time for my Everett Silvertips to take to the ice once again! Their first pre-season game is this Friday vs. the Seattle Thunderbirds (GO TIPS!!!), and their regular season starts Friday September 23rd at the Vancouver Giants in Langley, BC! Don't forget the cowbell.

5. The return of Mens Room Black. Oh yes, I can almost smell it's imperial goodness. Coming in late fall, this limited release tends to FLY off the shelves, so budget in enough Black to get you through the off-season and stock up when it hits the shelves in 22 oz bottles. It'll be here before you know it!

What are you most excited for this Fall? Put your list in the comment section below! Bye bye, summer!! See ya next year.

Happy Adventuring,

Taryn Daly
