Taryn's Wreckreation Guide: 6 Local Sandwich Shops You HAVE To Try

December 7, 2016

Oh, what's in a sandwich? You might be thinking MEAT and BREAD. And you're not wrong. But in the #PNW, our local sandwich shops know there is MUCH more to a sammy than that! Behold the masters of sandwich creation, and power of thinking outside the meat and bread.

If you're in Bellingham, check out Brandywine Kitchen downtown for some of the most innovative farm-to-table sandwiches ever created. Not only that, but they keep a fine selection of rotating taps featuring local craft beers! My go-to sandwich is the Apple-Jalapeno Chicken

So messy, but so good. This weeks special: Philly cheesesteak. Sautéed red onion and bell peppers with grilled steak and provolone cheese. Oh and we have @kombuchatown Ginger Gold on tap! #brandywinekitchen#bellingham#bellinghome#brandywine#brandywinekitchen#instagood#downtown#food#beer#wine#community#local#localvore#glutenfree#healthy#farmtotable#happyhour#eatlocal#autumn#patio#outdooreating#organic#bham#pnw#sustainable#farmfresh

For those in the city, you'll go CRAZY for the sandwiches at the Honey Hole on Pike Street. I had my first Honey Hole sandwich a few years back, and I never miss an opportunity to get in there and try something new. However, my favorite has to be the Buford T. Justice

Everett's Red Rock Subs puts a unique spin on the traditional sub sandwich. I'm also obsessed with their potato salad!! I can't even tell you how many times I filled a punch card when I lived in North Everett. Give the California Club a try - it's DELICIOUS!

The name alone makes me smile, but so does the menu at Nuckle's Sandwiches in Tacoma! They do grilled sandwiches, sub sandwiches, and deli-style sandwiches, but the one I spring for is the Hot Pastrami. A whole, not a half!

Wally's Sandwich Bar in Olympia has a SUPER diverse sandwich menu, but I gravitate toward the specialties! My mouth is watering RIGHT NOW as I dream about the Buffalo Chicken Sub...

If you ever find yourself headed over Snoqualmie Pass, hit The Soup Bowl in Ellensburg for a sandwich pit stop! The soup is definitely awesome, but I highly recommend the Chicken Fajita sandwich on Ciabatta bread. SO YUMMY.

Enjoy a rest stop today while you are out and about.
