Taryn's Wreckreation Guide: Anacortes Appetizer Crawl

Thee Ted Smith and I came up with a wicked awesome idea. An appetizer crawl. Pick a few bars and pubs and order delicious appetizers at every stop. Oh, and wash it down with a beer, of course.

We decided to execute this plan over the weekend in Anacortes, as Ted was already planning an overnight stay at the Anacortes Inn. Basically, we high-jacked his relaxing weekend getaway and we planned this genius appetizer crawl...

The crawl started at the Rockfish Grill & Anacortes Brewery, where we noshed on Crab Cakes, Calamari, Mussels & Fries w/ Mayo, and Garlic Parmesan Fries. Oh, and then more Crab Cakes. Had to order more because they were SO DAMN GOOD and we couldn't get enough. Beer of choice was Anacortes Brewery's IPA. 118 IBUs!!

From there, we moved to the Brown Lantern and enjoyed their outdoor beer garden, which happens to be dog friendly. SCORE! We got down on their Montreal Habi-Tots, Oyster Shooters, and Chicken Wings. Washed it all down with a classic, Boundary Bay's IPA.

Next stop on the crawl was the Anchor Inn, but we forgot to eat here... Instead, we ordered shots of Fireball, of course! We met some rad folks playing pool and picking out great jams on the jukebox! They also had a really cool outdoor beer garden. Is that a thing in Anacortes? We loved it.

Our last stop of the night was the bowling alley, San Juan Lanes. We threw down HARD on some late night appetizers! Mini Corndogs, Chicken Wings, and a couple pieces of pie to go... Oh and guess what they had on tap?! Elysian's Space Dust IPA!!

All in all, the Appetizer Crawl was a KICK ASS concept which we executed flawlessly, if I do say so myself. Do you have a great location in mind for a swell appetizer crawl? Email me the local hot-spots!

Happy Adventuring,
