Taryn's Wreckreation Guide: Bend Bound

November 3, 2016

I'm taking a long weekend Rockaholics! Tomorrow morning, I'll be hitting the road and bound for Bend, OR. I visited Bend back in June, but I'm really pumped for a fall visit. I have had a LOT going on lately outside of work (I'll fill you in more next week), so this weekend getaway couldn't come at a more perfect time. Here's a preview of what I'll be up to this weekend.

It's about a 6 hour drive to Bend, so first, we stock up on road trip essentials tonight. Beef Jerky, sandwiches, chips, and leftover Halloween candy. Also known as "the essentials".

We'll be staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton in downtown Bend, which is a stone's throw from amazing breweries. Bend Brewing, Deschutes Brewery, Silver Moon Brewing, McMenamins, Boneyard Beer, Crux Fermentation Project, Rat Hole Brewing are all walking distance from the hotel, with 10 Barrel Brewing, GoodLife Brewing Company, Cascade Lakes Brewing Company, RiverBend Brewing Company, and Worthy Brewing just a short drive from our accommodations!

It's pretty gloomy out there... but we're staying happy. --

However, there will be no need to drive, as we're hopping aboard the Bend Brew Bus on Saturday to explore the Bend Ale Trail with our passports! Did you know that Bend has more breweries per-capita than any other city in Oregon? True story! Rumor has it you get a bad ass souvenir for getting 10 stamps on your passport. Don't threaten ME with a good time!

Oh hello BEND ALE TRAIL!! #doingwork #bendaletrail #souvenirs

I'm hoping to take a few local hikes while we're there as well, so I'll get you a full report from the hills! Smith Rock and Pilot Butte are on my hit-list.

Art show in Oak Park on the 4th, NorCal Hike & Shoot on the 5th, and ... on the 7th. @hikeandshoot
