Taryn's Wreckreation Guide: Cold Temps & Winter Warmers

December 1, 2016

Temps are dropping, and snow is in the forecast, Rockaholics, although I RARELY trust our snow-casts in Western Washington. How many times have you seen inches predicted, and it ends up being a light dusting, at best?! Anyway, I'm on Team Snow, and these are my favorite things to drink when it's freezing outside:

1. Brown Sugar Bourbon - Heritage Distilling Company: I lovingly refer to this winter warmer as a "delicious whiskey pancake", because that is exactly what it tastes like. EXACTLY.

2. Breakfast of Crows - Skookum Brewery: It's essentially everything but the kitchen sink, and exactly what you're looking for in a stout. Chocolate, vanilla, maple, bourbon, and coffee. Yes!

3. Fireball & Cider - Your kitchen: No mixology skills required. It's simple: Fireball & Cider! I recommend using Finnriver's Fire Barrel Cider. SO GOOD.

I love the burnished, tawny color of the Fire Barrel cider in a glass. Finnriver homegrown, high tannin, organic cider apples! Here's to the harvest and the fermented fruits of Fall! #finnriver #craftcider #Finnrivercider #firebarrel

4. Stormy Mountain Red - Lake Chelan Winery:  One of my go-to reds to drink in the wintertime, this LCW favorite is perfect on a cold night. The right amount of spice with a hint of cherry!

Huge sale this week! Get 50% off on cases of Stormy Mountain Red. Offer good until Friday, October 24th. Give us a call at (509)687-9463.

5. Hot Buttered Rum - Your kitchen: I like Emeril's recipe. If you make a double or triple batch, you can store it in the freezer to use anytime.

What do you sip when it's cold outside? Email me your favorites so I can give 'em a try!

Happy Adventuring,
