Taryn's Wreckreation Guide: Come Say 'Thank You' To Mark Harris!

June 2, 2017

'Iron' Mike Savoia

Tomorrow night, there's a bevy of INCREDIBLE Loud & Local bands coming together for one epic night of ROCK at the Showbox at the Market. Windowpane, Van Eps, Kiss The Gunner's Daughter, Wyatt Olney & The Wreckage and Mach Society are teaming up and melting every face in the vicinity! But the show is not your average rock show in any way, shape or form. What's in store tomorrow night is a one-of-a-kind performance to celebrate a one-of-a-kind man - Mark Harris of Windowpane

Anyone who is familiar with Windowpane in any capacity, either directly or indirectly, knows Mark Harris. He has been Windowpane's bassist since the early days, dating all the way back to their time on the East Coast. Don't believe me? These photos provide plenty of proof!

Mark is part of the original recipe of the incredible music Windowpane has been producing for more than a decade. And tomorrow night will mark his final performance with the band. It's extremely bitter sweet for everyone involved - and ESPECIALLY Mark! - because he's both a devoted father and a passionate musician. Sometimes we have to know when to shift our focus. Every one of us has been there at some point in our lives. Mark departs Windowpane to focus on his baby girl and family life, and the support he has received for making this decision is massive. I can't even imagine balancing home life and the demanding world of a touring musician, so I am beyond excited for what the future holds for Mark, and he leaves behind a legacy! Unforgettable memories, shows, music videos, interviews and friends. He's leaving it ALL on stage tomorrow night, and the house will be packed.

As difficult as I can imagine it being with shifting gears and dynamics, Windowpane has appointed someone to fill the void Mark leaves, welcoming friend of the band Christon Casper to the line-up. Tomorrow night's show is a bit of a passing of the torch. Concert-goers will have the opportunity to honor and celebrate the career Mark has had with Windowpane while welcoming Christon to the band. Not many line-up changes are handled in this manner! Come to think of it, I've NEVER been to a show where this has happened. Those in attendance tomorrow night will be exposed to something completely different.

Before Windowpane's special night begins, you will be exposed to some of Seattle's finest. Van Eps, Kiss The Gunner's Daughter, Wyatt Olney & The Wreckage and Mach Society will build the excitement all evening until it's time for Mark to give everything he has, just like he always does, one last time. And Christon, I know we don't know each other very well just yet, but you have some BIG rocker boots to fill ;) And I know you will!

Mark, as I write this, I won't lie - I have tears in my eyes. Although it may feel like the end, it's truly the beginning for you and the next chapter of your life. I wish you and your family nothing but the best in all of your future adventures. I'm proud to call you a friend, and I hope you'll make some cameo appearances on stage and in music videos down the line! Thank you for all you have given the Seattle scene and the rock community as a whole. You will be recognized and celebrated always, long after your final bow with Windowpane.

Rockaholics, please come send Mark off in style tomorrow night!

Happy Adventuring,

Taryn Daly
