Taryn's Wreckreation Guide: Deming Logging Show

June 7, 2017

I remember going to my first logging show as a young girl and being completely fascinated by the skills and events of local loggers in the PNW! This weekend I feel as excited as I did as a kid, gearing up for the 2017 Deming Logging Show just outside Bellingham!

The event started back in 1963 has supported local loggers injured on the job and their families for more than 50 years. This long-standing Whatcom County tradition will draw massive crowds from near and far, showcasing the skills, technology and tools used by loggers in our area.

Without a doubt, my three favorite events at the Deming Logging Show are Axe Throwing, Speed Climbing and Log Rolling. Here are some highlights from 2016:

You'll want to come hungry, because a BBQ handled by a group of loggers is the best BBQ around!

Admission is $7 for adults, $4 for seniors and kids with proceeds benefitting injured loggers and their families.

Hope to see you at the Deming Log Show Grounds for the 55th Annual Deming Logging Show on Saturday and Sunday!

Happy Adventuring,

Taryn Daly
