Taryn's Wreckreation Guide: Dine On The Water

May 19, 2016

One of the best parts of being in Western WA is the fact that we have water EVERYWHERE. We have the Puget Sound, the Pacific Ocean, and countless lakes and rivers. There's no shortage of restaurants that have set up shop on the water, but a few rise to the top as my favorites.

1. Nell Thorn - La Conner: The last time I visited Nell Thorn, we sat outside on the deck with the Swinomish Channel right underneath us. It was pretty cold outside at that time of year, but they provide cozy blankets if you still want the outdoor ambiance without being totally freezing! Their menu is fantastic, with locally sourced food, wine, and beer. The sunsets are PHENOMENAL this time of year!

2. Emory's On Silver Lake - Everett: You might remember when Emory's had a horrible fire years ago. When they reconstructed and opened back up for business, the support from the community was INCREDIBLE. I think someone from my family visits Emory's about once a month. :) I love to sit outside on the deck for Happy Hour!

3. McMenamins on the Columbia - Vancouver: I'm a huge fan of McMenamins and have visited MANY of their awesome locations, but looking out over the Columbia is a pretty magical place to be. Next time you're headed to Portland, definitely stop in and put down a few pints on the water. It's a heavenly spot and the beer is SO good.

Do you have a favorite waterfront spot? Let me know the details so I can check it out!

Happy Adventuring,
