Taryn's Wreckreation Guide: Get Loud & Local Action This Weekend

February 7, 2017

Because I like to plan ahead, my weekend's engagements are already on the books, and it's only Tuesday. Aside from Happy Hour with some of my college friends on Saturday, and possibly hitting Mt. Baker again Sunday, I am packing in some of KISW's favorite Loud & Local bands LIVE! If you happen to live in the north end, or you don't mind traveling for a rad rock show, definitely hit the Mirkwood Public House for one, if not TWO incredible experiences!

Friday night you can catch a triple bill with Steel Beans, Rainy Day Devils and WOODSHED at the Mirk. Careful, it might get loud!! I am really looking forward to Steel Beans and Rainy Day Devils, because this will be my first time seeing both bands! And the WOODSHED guys are three of the hardest working, passionate musicians I've ever met, and I'm damn proud to call them my friends. I describe them as what happens when Mastodon and Alice In Chains have a baby.

Check out 'Squatch' from WOODSHED, my favorite off their latest album Hands In The Sky

On Saturday night, SUPERFEKTA (as heard on KISW's Live Day) will play the Mirk with Wyatt Olney & The Wreckage, Dead To Rights, and SoulShiver.

'Gone & Done It' is HANDS DOWN my favorite SUPERFEKTA song! PLEASE guys, play it for me on Saturday night! \m/ Maybe you were there the night they covered 'Man In The Box' featuring Rane Stone, and our very own Steve 'The Thrill' Hill was ripping up that bass!

Wyatt Olney & The Wreckage have this KICK ASS song called 'The Underground' that's easily my favorite off Dark Futures. They'll definitely be playing it on Saturday night!

Don't miss out on these fabulous local bands over the weekend! I can't wait to get rocked, and I'm already predicting a helluva bang-over Sunday morning. I should probably schedule a massage for Monday....

Happy Adventuring,

Taryn Daly
