Taryn's Wreckreation Guide: A Guide To National Puppy Day

March 23, 2017

You have to admit, National Puppy Day just sounds like a day you want to celebrate from dusk till dawn. Can I pet all the puppies?! Yes, please! Believe it or not, #NationalPuppyDay is WAY more than just a hashtag where we showcase our four-legged friends to our followers on Instagram. Here's the real story...

National Puppy Day definitely enourages us to highlight the love and joy dogs bring to our lives, but it's SO much more than that! National Puppy Day was founded in 2006 to help orphaned puppies across the world find their forever homes, and YOU can help!

Maybe you're not looking for a new puppy right this very minute, but someone you know probably is. There are incredible local shelters with plenty of adorable, adoptable little pups, so SHARE their stories and their information with your network of friends and family. Check out these amazing local shelters and their dedication to finding forever homes for dogs who need them.

1. Motley Zoo Animal Rescue - Redmond, WA: You've probably seen photos from backstage at Pain In The Grass where some of our favorite KISW artists have turned into complete puddles while snuggling sweet puppies. That's all thanks to the incredible work of Motley Zoo Animal Rescue, who are dedicated to finding loving homes for animals who need one. All of their adoptable dogs take their names from rock stars and bands!

2. The NOAH Center - Stanwood, WA: You'll see NOAH on the east side of I-5 if you're driving north of the Stanwood/Camano exit, and you should definitely pop in to visit this fabulous organization! If you're looking to adopt a dog, their facility is pretty spectacular - they have 17 acres of beautiful wilderness trails where you can walk with one of these adoptable pups and find your perfect match! Be sure to check out one of their many exciting fundraising events throughout the year.

3. Pasado's Safe Haven - Sultan, WA: I fell in love with Pasado's after my girlfriend starte volunteering for them. Their facility is beyond phenomenal, with a number of beautiful adoptable dogs available right now. A sprawling 85 acres provides a loving sanctuary for more than 200 animals looking for their forever home.

Can you HANDLE this cuteness? Don't worry, we could barely hold it together either. ------ Adopt these adorable little guys today!
