Since I've spent most of my adult life in the area, I think I have some pretty good insight, so I'd LOVE to invite you to take a One-Tank-Trip to Camano Island! You have to pass through my small town of Stanwood to get there, and since it's a ferry-free, hour-long drive from Seattle, you'll be on "island time" in the blink of an eye.

Hit the road early to avoid weekend traffic on northbound I-5! Off the Stanwood/Camano exit, you'll hit "town" before you get to Camano, so take a moment to fuel up at the Duck In Cafe. It's my favorite local breakfast spot, and I highly recommend the McDuck breakfast sandwich!

If adventure is what you're after, you'll definitely want to hit Canopy Tours Northwest, one of the most extraordinary zipline experiences you'll ever have! Their zips take you through lush, green forest with peek-a-boo views of our rugged mountains. It's truly breathtaking and you'll want to go again the second you finish your tour!

From there, unwind across the street at Pub 282. With a dozen taps to choose from, you'll find your perfect beer to pair with their jalapeno poppers - bacon-wrapped and made in-house!. Find a spot to relax in their outdoor seating area for some ambiance while you recap your ziplining!

Golfers will want to head to Camaloch Golf Course for 9 holes of leisure. The grounds are in great shape for the summer months, and you'll love their smooth, consistent greens.

Those in search of an excellent dining experience should head to Camano Island Waterfront Inn, Restaurant and Spa, where their locally-sourced menu offerings are sure to dazzle your tastebuds!

This place doubles as a great place to stay the night in a luxurious setting where you can *literally* soak it all in!

A rustic, pet-friendly option would be Cama Beach State Park's Cabins, a true trip back in time! Their 1930s bungalows ask guests to bring their own bedding, pillows, towels, cookware, dishes and utensils, and the location couldn't be any more inviting. Beach combing at your front door!

Whether you come for the day or decide to stay, a Camano Island retreat is only a One-Tank-Trip away!

Happy Adventuring,

Taryn Daly
