The fourth Saturday in April marks the opening of trout fishing in Washington and many of us will be flocking to our favorite lakes and ponds to show off our angling skills. There will be fishing derbies, potlucks, bonfires, and beers to celebrate the occasion of opening weekend. I'm all in!

Whether you're a north-ender, a south-ender, or maybe an in-betweener who wants to get out of the city, there are so many great spots to fish this weekend. You can check out all of the Western Washington lakes and pick your spot!

A few of my favorite places to trout fish are Lake Padden in Bellingham, Lake Diablo off the North Cascades Highway, Lake Howard in Stanwood, and Ohop Lake near Eatonville. Where will you be fishing this weekend? Let me know so I can check it out this season!

Happy Adventuring,

Taryn Daly
