Taryn's Wreckreation Guide: Tour Lake Chelan In Style

May 30, 2017

Lake Chelan is an incredibly beautiful place to visit this time of year, and I just spent Memorial Day Weekend there with my sister's bachelorette party. We had a solid group of 10 amazing ladies, and wanted to make sure we safely wine tasted through the area, so we hired the absolute coolest limousine service and maximized our afternoon!

Lakeside Limousine was SO much fun! Our driver for the afternoon was an awesome guy named Ronnie, and not only was he tolerant of our Chelanigans, he was extremely knowledgable, accomodating and entertaining! He picked us up in a stretch limo SUV, let us pick the tunes and even kept our champagne chilled for us in the 80+ degree Eastern Washington heat.

Before we hit the first winery, he brought us to a brand new spot off the south shore called Even Keel Brewing Company, where we actually tasted beer AND wine! They've been open just a few weeks and had amazing ambiance already. I tried their IPA (weird!) and absolutely LOVED it. That's Ronnie, hanging with the ladies!

From there, we moved to a gorgeous outdoor space at Tunnel Hill Winery and sat outside in the shade under the trees next to a beautiful fountain. We were served by a wonderful man named Omar, and even met a couple getting married there in a few weeks who brought along their dog Scotch to check out the premises!

Our next stop was Mellisoni, which I've always heard wonderful things about but just visited for my first time. Our host was the cellar manager Gustavo, who set us up with adirondack chairs overlooking the lake, where we were able to play cornhole and ladder golf while we tasted wine! We opted for a few charchuterie plates and a little rose while we soaked in the view. It was magical!

The final stop of the afternoon was Benson Vineyards Estate Winery, a place I fell in love with the first time I stepped onto the property. The grounds are simply incredible, offering arguably some of the best views in the area. Jeff Benson took care of us while we enjoyed a few bottles and appetizers, listened to the fountains while taking in the sights, and enjoyed the end of our tour.

Ensuring we had a safe ride through Chelan's wine country was imperative, and not only did Lakeside Limousine provide that service, they made it extra memorable by incorporating lots of laughs and good fun! Thank you Ronnie - can't wait to come back and do it again sometime!

Happy Adventuring,

Taryn Daly
