Taryn's Wreckreation Guide: Would You Climb 832 Steps?

September 30, 2016

Sunday is the 2nd Annual Base 2 Space climb benefiting Fred Hutch, where amazing folks travel from every corner of the PNW to participate. I was there last year for the inaugural climb and it was one of the coolest events I've ever been a part of! 832 steps for mankind... would you do it?

I KNOW it looks AND sounds crazy-intimidating, but if I can do it, you can do it! Trust me!! If you feel like you want IN on the action, you can still register day-of on Sunday and climb the Space Needle with me. I'm not sure what is better - the exictement when you reach the top and have the observation deck to explore with other climbers, or the beer garden and live music that awaits when you take the elevator down to the bottom. But the most IMPORTANT part is the space in between - the 52 stories.

With every step, I think how cancer has impacted my life. Cancer took my uncle John's life. It took my good friend Jake's parents, Rick and Dor. It took nearly every member of my mom's best friend Joanne's family. Joanne is a survivor. My cousin Megan is a survivor. My sorority sister Tera is a survivor.

We need MORE survivors. And ultimately, we need a cure. That is what I think about during those 832 steps. That is why I am raising money for Fred Hutch. Please consider donating to my fundraising efforts to help create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. And thank you to those who have supported my efforts already!

Whether you're ready to climb this year, next year, or a few years down the road, please consider participating in this amazing and inspirational event.

Happy Adventuring,

Taryn Daly
